Quick question — When did it become December?! I feel like life has been flying by ever since Thanksgiving… Little man and I went to Maryland to visit family for over a week, caught a little viral bug, kicked that, have been trying to get back into the swing of things AND I’ve started substituting! Next week is my husband’s birthday, followed by mine, and Christmas. I’m going to blink and it will be the New Year! 🙂 I’m hoping you guys are entering this season with ease and remembering what this time is really about. Less stress, more family, joy, love, and Jesus
You might remember that not too long ago I was raving about some of Nubian Heritage’s goodies.
I had heard great things about them before but had never seen them in stores. I was able to try their fragrance-free body wash and lotion–which were very hydrating and soothing; as well as their Abyssinian Oil and Chia Seed bath bomb (that smelled incredible.) At Marshalls a couple of weeks ago, I found their African Black Soap facial moisturizer, which helped to heal a hormonal breakout quickly without over-drying the surrounding skin.
Their products are high-quality, made by hand in small batches, all natural, and created with traditional cultural recipes in mind.
The ladies who started this company, started very humbly as Harlem street vendors, not knowing that today they would still be sharing thousands of healing products with the world.
It is evident to me that their heart is still put into the production of each and every product.
Recently, Nubian Heritage reached out to me to see if I would be interested in sampling a few of their products from their Indian Hemp + Haitain Vetiver Collection. I was really impressed with the quality of their other products, and after experiencing the bath bomb last time, I couldn’t wait to see what this baby packed inside.
Guys, the scent alone had me hooked.
It’s the most uplifting, floral scent that I’ve fallen in love with and I’ve received so many compliments since wearing them. What’s even better are the nutritive and clarifying ingredients. This time of year is when I’m scraping to seal in moisture as much as possible. This collection was made to protect the skin from harsh elements, by infusing nourishing Indian Hemp Oil–which is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants–and combining it with Haitian Vetiver and Neem Oil, in order to gently polish and cleanse rough, dull skin and further protect it.
Vetiver essential oil is known for its grounding properties, for boosting the immune system, decreasing inflammation, and even calming the nervous system–all things that are a serious plus during this season.
My husband loves it and people keep complementing me on the perfume I’m wearing, when really it’s just my armpits activating the magic of the scent LOL– I’m not even kidding… The deodorant might be my favorite part of this collection.
So what did I try?
🌿 Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver 24 Hour Deodorant
🌿Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Body Lotion
🌿Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Body Wash
🌿Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Infused Shea Butter
🌿Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Bar Soap
🌿Nubian Heritage Indian Hemp & Haitain Vetiver Bath Bomb
Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver 24 Hour Deodorant
I kind of feel like it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t introduce this one first because this might be changing my life… 🙌🏽💕
I have been looking for a natural deodorant that works for me for 2 years now. Toms, Primal Pit Paste, Jason, Schmidts…these work for so many people and come highly recommended among the green community but they don’t work well for me. I’m sensitive to baking soda (I get a weird rash that scars temporarily) and the earthy scents that are chosen end up changing with my body chemistry by the end of the day, causing me to smell horrible. Tom’s deodorant in Tea Tree has been the most successful, but I would have to apply it often, and by the end of the day I would not smell fresh. This has been an embarrassing battle because I still don’t want to use conventional deodorant on the daily, but admit that I have used it for special occasions (like weddings, social outings etc.) because I just couldn’t risk it.
The scent that this entire collection belongs to is simply gorgeous 🙏🏽🌿✨ Like I mentioned earlier, people keep complimenting me on my perfume, but I haven’t been wearing any. Since this doesn’t have antiperspirant, I still sweat (I want to… That’s my body’s main natural detox system!) except when I do sweat, it activates this scent making me smell feminine, clean, and lovely.
This doesn’t have baking soda, so it doesn’t have that creamy-dry feel to it. Instead, it glides smoothly on the skin, but isn’t greasy. The neem oil helps to kill the bacteria that causes you to stink, and the essential oils included blend together in such a beautiful way that truly lasts. It says that it’s good for 24 hours and for me, this has proven true– I haven’t had to reapply and it doesn’t end up changing over time, or make me smell like a spritzed gym rat. It’s been almost a month and it’s still working, so I think it’s safe to say that it’s effective. Usually deodorants last me a week or so before my body starts to get used to it, but this is staying strong. It hasn’t caused me irritation, even after shaving when my skin is most vulnerable. It is made with ingredients derived from fermented non-GMO corn, vegetable glycerin, and organic shea butter to help keep the delicate underarm skin soothed, while the neem oil kills bacteria to keep you smelling fresh–which to me, is the most important part.
What I like:
🌿Neem Oil has natural antifungal and antibacterial properties that help minimize body odor. It is soothing to irritated skin because it is a natural anti-inflammatory. It also has detoxifying properties.
🌿Hemp Seed Oil is a natural emollient and moisturizer. It contains high levels of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids that help to nourish and regenerate skin cells.
🌿Grapefruit Seed Extract has antibacterial, antiviral, antimicrobial and antifungal properties. It combats candida and other fungal infections.
Will I be buying this again?
A thousand times over, yes. I want to try this in every scent they offer to use in rotation lol! If you have had trouble finding a natural deodorant that works, I really think this one is worth a shot. 💕
Indian Hemp & Haitain Vetiver Body Lotion
This isn’t quite as thick as the previous lotion I tried by them, but it is still rich, creamy, and hydrating. It smooths into the skin easily and isn’t sticky or tacky, and doesn’t leave any oily residue behind. I love how it makes my skin feel afterwards, hydrated, non-greasy, and smooth. My skin gets itchy this time of year, especially after shaving my legs but this has been helpful in soothing that. It is sensitive enough to use on my son without irritation as well, which is always a plus.
The lotion smells a little more earthy than the rest of the line, but it soaks into your skin leaving behind such a subtle aroma that I don’t mind it at all.
What I like:
🌿Mango Seed Butter– rich in oleic acid, a mono-unsaturated omega-9 acid; and stearic acid, a saturated fatty acid and combats UV rays and free radicals. Not only is it soothing and nutritive for the skin, but it also tightens and tones.
🌿Hemp Seed Oil – High in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, hemp oil has a composition similar to skin lipids, which makes it a very effective moisturizer. It soothes skin conditions such as eczema, acne, and dermatitis and regenerates the skin.
🌿Cocoa Seed Butter– contains antioxidants called polyphenols that soothe and promote healing in skin conditions and diminishes signs of aging.
🌿Neem Seed Oil– natural antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral.
🌿Vetiver Oil -used to soothe inflammatory skin conditions and is a natural antibacterial moisturizer. Known for its healing, grounding, and de-stressing properties. Naturally uplifting.

Indian Hemp & Haitain Vetiver Skin Body Wash
This body wash has such a lovely fragrance that lingers on my skin after my shower, and even smells nice on my husband. It lathers easily and makes my skin feel clean and moisturized. Because of the ingredients, it is a little on the thinner side, but that hasn’t posed a problem for me– I just am mindful when pouring it onto my washcloth, as to not waste any product.
What I like:
I feel like the entire combination of this line is helping to keep me fresh throughout the day, as neem oil combats bacteria which creates body odor. If you didn’t know, neem oil has a rather strong scent, but the combination of scents they used in this product is perfect and smells just gorgeous–I don’t detect the strong scent of neem at all👌🏽💛✨ They did a great job with this formula and I’ll be buying this one again for sure.
Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Infused Shea Butter
I really am impressed with the purity of this shea butter. It is solid upon opening, and you have to use your body temperature to warm it up in your hand. It is a bit grainy, but this is something I’ve experienced with any pure shea butter, due to its natural consistency. I have been using it at night on my face and around my eyes, as well as my neck and chest, and even on my dry patches when my perioral dermatitis flares up and it does relieve redness and inflammation. Because of the natural grainy consistency, it can be difficult spreading it onto my entire body–especially if I don’t have the time to work it into my skin, but it leaves my skin feeling super soft, supple and hydrated. As a bonus, the scent lingers for a long time. 🙌🏽💕
What I like:
The ingredients are clean, simple and healing for the skin.
🌿Shea Butter– Highly concentrated in stearic, oleic acids, as well as vitamin A and E. it is extremely nutritive and healing for the skin and helps to protect the skin’s natural oils and cells. It contains anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor compounds.
🌿Hemp Seed Oil – Highly moisturizing, treats dermatitis, eczema, and irritated skin conditions.
🌿 Neem Oil -naturally clarifying: antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal.
🌿Essential Oil Blend – naturally healing and offers a lasting floral scent, without the harsh and toxic chemicals.
🌿Tocopherol (Vitamin E) – regenerates skin cells, anti-aging.
🌿Vetiver – Known for its anti-inflammatory, healing, grounding, and de-stressing properties. Naturally uplifting.
Indian Hemp & Haitain Vetiver Bath Bomb
Okay, so the Abyssinian Oil and Chia Seed bath bomb that I tried last time completely stole my heart, and I think that one will forever be tough to top😅 But these in no way disappointed. They were relaxing, smelled awesome, and soothed and moisturized my skin. The scent was a more toned down version of the rest of the collection–a tad more earthy–but in a very pleasant way. The night that my son was getting over being sick, he was cranky as ever and this bath bomb completely saved my night.
What I like:
Like that last set of bath bombs, these ones contain small particles of herbs and spices, which I love. There’s something about flower petals and herbs in bath water that makes me feel completely pampered. The essential oils each play a special role in soothing the skin, while the baking soda helps to detox and balance the pH in your body. Like usual, I added a dollop of coconut oil to my bath, which left my skin feeling buttery smooth and aids in detoxing as well. 👌🏽💛✨
Indian Hemp & Haitian Vetiver Bar Soap
My husband loves bar soap. I, on the other hand, am not generally a fan because they often leave my skin feeling stripped of its natural oils. Because of this, I admittedly kept pushing this one to the side and almost avoided it. 😬 I felt silly once I used it because it didn’t leave my skin feeling tight or dry at all. In fact, it was surprisingly moisturizing and worked great on my legs while shaving. The scent is mild and natural, and tiny herbs are worked inside, giving it a nice and earthy feel. It doesn’t melt down quickly like other bar soaps, making it something that will last me a long time.
Nubian Heritage continues to impress me with the quality of their products, and at this point, I’d feel confident trying any one of their many concoctions! 🙂
They offer thousands of high-quality skincare at reasonable prices, and in sizes that are made to last…Even more, they still curate handmade products in small-batches, ensuring the highest quality and while keeping cultural tradition alive.
To highlight, Nubian Heritage is free of:
synthetic fragrance and artificial color
and are never tested on animals.
Have you tried this brand before? Let me know your experience and if there are any others you’d recommend trying next!
Love and light.
